Season 2 Episode 12

When The Golden Globes aired on a Tuesday this year, it made me think about the shows that I watch on Tuesdays. I was watching New Amsterdam until it ended. I had thought that I missed the ending of La Brea, but that it still on for a while, now in double timeslots, airing back to back episodes. It might be a bit of a surprise that it was renewed, but there’s likely not going to be any more beyond that. I would watch Night Court, but I am seeing too much on Tuesdays right now already.

What else am I watching? Well, I’m seeing 9-1-1: Lone Star on FOX, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and FBI: International on CBS, and The Rookie, Will Trent, and The Rookie: Feds on ABC. What’s terrible is that once the CW brings back some shows that I like, I’ll have four things to watch in the same timeslot. What’s even worse is that I can watch four things all at once.

Since the last Science Rock song was about the skeletal system, it makes sense to share the song that helped inspire it that uses part of the song at some point. That song is called Dem Dry Bones.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVoPG9HtYF8

The next song that they did in Science Rock was A Victim of Gravity. I’m sharing that now. It seems that I was prepared enough for some of these posts to not know what I was sharing once I eventually published them. I am now working on five different posts of this blog at once and will be starting a sixth soon as I work to publish this and the next three over the next three days for reasons that will be clear soon.

Going to the next dungeon in The Wind Waker and the sub-boss from it, we get to Mothula from Forbidden Woods. It seems a fairly easy enemy. It gets even easier to beat later in the game with other weapons, such as the one you get in this room.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra0uqCVvLoc

Since there are more songs to share from Trolls, the next one that I’m doing is the True Colors lyric video from Trolls. I haven’t shared any of their songs yet, so this will be the first one that I’m doing based on sharing the Celtic Woman version of this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=la0-5QFLr14

Speaking of Celtic Woman, their next song from Songs from the Heart is Galway Bay. I like it as it is a good Irish song and they are often criticized for not being Irish enough in the end. It is one of their most Irish songs that they have performed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zf3HjUF5dn4

There were more Jimmy Fallon things to share and I’ve been gone from this blog too long. Not only that, but I would have had a long gap even without the hiatus since it had been so long since new episodes aired. This video that I’m sharing of him from his show relates to football raps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAqk57AS3gM

I should warn you that this paragraph and a bit later are a bit political. I forget why I wanted to share it. This video explains Biden versus Trump in regards to covid deaths that have happened. In case anyone was thinking that Biden was worse because there have been more covid deaths since he took office, this video debunks that.

Football team ranking update: Anyways, when it comes to ranking the teams that are numbers 21-23 in the ranking, I had to wait until a New Year’s Day game was played in order to complete this ranking. The Giants are the lowest, having lost to both the Seahawks and the Jets. When the Seahawks and the Jets played, the Seahawks beat the Jets. This leaves the ranking as 21- Seahawks, 22- Jets, and 23- Giants.

Were any Nobel Peace Prize winners a US secretary of state? Yes. The following all were: Elihu Root, Frank Billings Kellogg, Cordell Hull, George Catlett Marshall Jr., and Henry Kissinger. Thank you, Wikipedia.

In the following old post from my Madam Secretary blog, I talk about being behind on what I have to watch on tape. To think, in 2020, I was once one roll away from taking that choice off of my list for a bit. Now, I have 8 tapes to watch and episodes of shows that have ended on it like 2 of Charmed, 1 of Dynasty, and 1 of Tom Swift. I have the feeling that I will see political commercials for the 2023 elections before I’m done with the tapes from before the 2022 elections.

WARNING! Political section

I also talk about doing bets. I bet my cousin over the 2020 presidential election and he has yet to pay up. He’s just proving to me that Republicans aren’t men of their words. I also did change my mind about wanting Pence as president. He’s such a boob. Also, who would Trump’s 2024 running mate be? I’m almost surprised he hasn’t said yet. I would think that he would pick Kristi Noem before anyone else. But we may never know for sure.

https://adamdeckermadamsecretaryblog.blogspot.com/2017/05/episode-from-3-5-2017.html

I’m going to forgo doing an acrostic poem again to do an election countdown to 1-3-2025. I will keep this section apolitical at times since a bunch of people from both parties are likely to leave office then. The only problem is a lot of them are running for another office so we won’t know if they’ll win that other office or not. Still, it would seem that Democratic Michigan senator Debbie Stabenow is the only senator or Congressperson who is not running for another office. I can mention more later as time goes on and mention the countdowns to 1-3-2027 and 1-3-2029 in the future. It is also know that Mike Braun is running for governor of Indiana so it is known that he won’t be taking a potential new office on 1-3-2025.

Still, I better get to how many days away that date will be from the time that you see this blog post. I posted the amount of time on facebook on 1-24-2023. I have also decided that I will include the countdown to when Jeff Landry is out of office in this blog only if he doesn’t win the office that he’s running for now. Anyways, as of the day that this episode aired, the date of 1-3-2025 is 701 days away.

End political section

Movie update: On Friday, I watched a home video. This could be the precursor to a new list, but I can’t start one until Tuesday’s list is dissolved. Meanwhile, my longer home videos can’t be watched again until I’m done watching the shorter home videos. On Saturday, I watched Finding Nemo and had to replace it with Finding Dory instead of something from Tuesday’s list. On Sunday, I watched The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I replaced that with The Emperor’s New Groove from Tuesday’s list. On Wednesday, I watched Bean: the Movie. I replaced that with Fireproof from Tuesday’s list. While I was still finishing that movie on Thursday, I still watched something from Thursday’s list: Mr. Bean’s Holiday. I replaced that with It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie.

On Saturday, I watched Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. I replaced that with The National Parks. I won’t be able to finish moving Tuesday’s list around unless I either finish with an s choice on most of the lists or watch something from Sunday’s list. I was not able to see a choice from Sunday’s list this week due to other plans for lunch. I had the chance to see a movie from a scab list. I decided to do it even though I wound up rolling one of the choices that I wasn’t wanting to, Toy Story 4 from Thursday’s list. I wasn’t wanting to roll it since I’m watching it with Spanish subtitles. I only started it on Sunday. I continued it on Monday. I finished it then. I replaced it with Tower Heist. Here is Everything Great about Toy Story 4.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=813eiZsB1Fo

On Wednesday, I watched The Empire Strikes Back. I replaced that with Return of the Jedi. On Thursday, I watched none of Thursday’s movies as I was still finishing Star Wars. On Saturday, I watched Finding Dory. I replaced that with Downton Abbey: A New Era. On Sunday, I watched Liar Liar. I replaced that with the last thing that I could move from Tuesday’s old list: Stuart Little. Tuesday’s list is now dissolved. Yay! This means that I can add new lists now. I will when it works out.

On Wednesday, I watched The Return of the Jedi. I was still finishing that on Thursday so I was not able to see any of Thursday’s movies. I replaced that with The Force Awakens. I will not yet know when I will start a list on Friday, but plan to watch the two Celtic Woman Christmas concerts first on that day of the week.

The first part starts with two women hanging out. But a noise has to be investigated. Both of the women start coughing. One of them winds up in the hospital being read to by a third woman. This woman in the hospital wakes up. Catherine then takes a girl into this place. Is her daughter a kid again? She is pineapple years old. Maxine talks to Roxy some about an old case regarding an old case in Catherine’s tenure. This happened four years ago. The woman woke up and said that her sister’s death was not an accident. Catherine leaves this child with other members of the team.

People take out the exhumed body or something else that smells. Maybe now I should bring up that song that I hate about that smell. Maxine thinks that it isn’t coming from just her body. Was it chemicals used or murder? The crime scene is nearly four years old. Some people on the team talk to people about the coma one of them just went through. She thinks that her sister and herself were poisoned. Someone had broke into the salon. Catherine thinks that it isn’t too late to find the truth.

The second part has Catherine taking a child to see a crime scene. Why would you do that? Who do you think that you are: Temperance Brennan? That is her name, right? The one on Bones? The child is taken away, perhaps to be with The Mandalorian. There is a lot of formaldehyde. There are ingredients in shampoo that aren’t supposed to be there. Could it have been the brother in-law of Mimi who she thinks was there with him? Sasha is the person who died. He deals with a lot of pickleball. (Is that supposed to be two words?) He is an instructor of that.

Hannah is the name of the kid. Chris takes her away. There are different footprints that they found there. At least six were found. A woman is also interrogated about some of what went on that Saturday as those are busy days. A gay man is also there since I guess one is legally required to work at a hair salon. After all, that’s what Coby Archa does or used to. A woman of Asian descent is also talked to. This is a woman named Nikki, I believe. This is an addition to a man named Nick and Nicole as well. I think that the first woman is Nicole and the gay guy is Nick.

A black woman had cut off some of Nikki’s hair since she had an affair. We then get to a biracial man who also worked there at the time. After all of these interviews where I’m already guessing that multiple ones of them will be involved, we get to team seeing that a ventilation system was shut down meaning that the sisters were certain to be killed because of this.

The third part has people looking for the right shoes and some are ruled out for being the wrong size. It’s almost a curse to have this on tape as I can rewatch parts of this episode as much as I want to. William, Nikki, and Nicole are the wrong sizes. William is the son of Sasha. It is not a giant who has these shoes. Maybe it’s a jet? Wait. This is Vegas. Maybe it’s a raider. Ken (Sasha’s husband, the pickle ball guy), Heather (Sasha’s best friend, although I forget which woman that is), and Nick, who was fired, are the three main suspects who are left. Three suspects? Is this a classic Matlock episode two-parter? I wonder what continuity error will save the day.

The killer appears to be going bald. They have hair loss medication. Would you really want to spend money on that? Are you afraid that someone will mistake you as a Hollywood villain? What about a comedy person like Howie Mandel? Or a badass action star like Bruce Willis? Mimi gives her testimony and why she is convinced that it was Nick and it was a grey face person with a snout. If I had to guess, it probably was a mask that someone was wearing. And it probably wasn’t Nick. It wasn’t a dream like Maxine first thought as she found a photo of this person.

The fourth part has everything about the night she went into a coma adding up in the end. But is this really Ken? They might deal with forensic shadow puppets. Maybe that will be a show on Adult Swim. Or FX. Or Comedy Central. Or Netflix. The best bet right now would be Paramount+. I’ll write it if no one else will. A suspect is brought in, but let go due to current lack of evidence. What caused this grey man? There could be talons. Wasn’t Talon the protagonist of The Outpost? I was going to write a bit about that when I start blogging about Blood versus Water again.

Beau goes through a lot of what might be going on and is annoyed that Josh always has to get the last word. You know, when someone does that to me like on facebook, I tend to not give them what they want and don’t give them any response. Why prove them right? As long as it isn’t a shut the fuck up kind of thing, I’m going to be quiet if they either ask me to or insist that I need the last word. Anyways, a piece of plastic seems to be the key to this all.

The fifth part has Catherine talking some about taking a break from a while to be there for her daughter Lindsay and granddaughter Hannah. Lindsay is upset at Catherine, needless to say. Everything comes together with gum revealing that Heather is the killer. Basically, she was selling fake shampoo and pocketing the difference. She was likely going to be caught, but tried repeating the phrase that Ken killed your sister to Mimi. But it turns out that the team was able to catch her.

The episode ends with Catherine offering to take her family to Hawaii. Maybe there will be a spin-off there. I mean, CBS can’t let NCIS: Hawaii be their only show set and filmed there with NBC getting the benefits from Magnum P.I. in the future. I have no idea if ABC is making use of their former Lost set, first given to Off the Map and then to Last Resort.

On the next CSI: Vegas, there is a crime written on a card with a sick mind behind all of these stories. I wouldn’t call Anthony Zuiker’s mind sick. And it is far better that he writes crime shows than actually do this in reality. I don’t know what else there is to say this time so I’ll be back whenever with the next episode. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Hiatus

Well, it happened again. I have to put blogs of mine on hiatus once again. This time, this is one of the blogs. If you couldn’t tell already by the fact that this blog wasn’t posted on Thursday when it should have been, something serious went down in my life. I knew that I wouldn’t be able to bring you the regular blog post and was at one point going to do this one instead. That didn’t happen as I got really tired and couldn’t even do something briefly. If you want to know more about any hiatus of mine, then be sure to check out this blog post.

http://adamdeckercsicyber.blogspot.com/2022/12/tech-when-i-take-break-from-blogging.html

If bad things come in threes, then it seems to be the movie Return of the Jedi that had cursed things for a third time. I just happened to watch it right before things were closing again in November of 2020. I saw it in a special film score live on Friday the 13th of May when my sister’s van was overheating before and afterwards. And now it just happened to be what I was watching when another issue was going on.

On the day this episode aired, I wound up putting the show on tape just in order to see it at all. It was a while before I could see it (I now have), but it could be even longer before I get to the as of yet unfinished blog post.

I don’t know how long I will be gone with this blog. I’m hoping that I will not be gone during any of Lent. In fact, I’ll probably publish posts of this blog right before Ash Wednesday and might go back to normal after that. Lent starts on February 22nd this year. I hope that things will be better resolved then. I’ll tell you how for sure this might be more affected later in this blog. For now, sorry about the wait as this could be a while or not long at all before I’m back to normal posting. It’s dumb because the show was on a break for so long so of course it comes back when weird things happen.

Season 2 Episode 11

You know what I realize? That since Marg Helgenberger, who plays Catherine, is busy with other projects as she does this show, that probably explains why we are seeing less of her this season than we could otherwise see. I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I enjoy the newbies of this show being given their better chance to shine. On the other, I don’t like her being underused throughout the season especially since this might be her only return to the franchise because I’m guessing the next season will have another returning cast member from the original season.

Continuing on with more of Science Rock, there’s a song that they did about the skeletal system called Them Not-So-Dry Bones. It seems to be inspired by and even use some of the lyrics of Dem Dry Bones. I like Dem Dry Bones better and wonder if this song is supposed to cut off or only seems like it does. It could be an uploading error or to avoid going beyond fair use. (I’m almost certain that me accidentally going beyond fair use is why there is a warning over one of my posts in my Madam Secretary blog, but am currently unsure as I wasn’t told why that was.) I’ll get to Dem Dry Bones in the next blog post.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns4Im3jBWUc

The first boss of The Wind Waker is Gohma. This version is obviously different from the one that we saw in the Deku tree at the beginning of Ocarina of Time. I’m not sure why they have the same name when they look different enough to me.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0apQlANJUcQ

The original singer of True Colors is Cyndi Lauper. I’m going to include her version of that song now. I will feature more of this song in the next two posts as there is even more that I can milk out of it thanks to a cover of it that appeared in a movie that I’ve seen and like.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPn0KFlbqX8

Continuing on with the next part of Songs from the Heart, the next song that was in the concert wasn’t on the DVD and I’m not entirely sure if this is where it belongs in the place at the concert. But this is my best guess as to where Carolina Rua goes as I’m pretty sure that a different version of this had Chloe on stage at the end. When I watch the concert, I even pause it after the previous song to watch this one and then go back to the rest of the concert. This isn’t the only part of the concert when this happens, a song being randomly cut but somehow the official concert version of the song is available online.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOMf-8lGLnw

Now having mentioned some about nomenclature during the previous post, I now feel like sharing one of the greatest Weird Al songs, one called Word Crimes. It does explain things like the phrase I could care less, which means you do care, at least a little. Most people who say that actually mean that they couldn’t care less.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Gv0H-vPoDc

Football team ranking update: There are 32 NFL teams and I have a ranking for a lot of them. The bottom ones are 32- Patriots, 31- Bears, 30- Cardinals, and 29- Falcons. As for the highest teams on down, they are 1- Rams, 2- 49ers, 3- Chiefs, 4- Colts, 5- Raiders, 6- Steelers, 7- Titans, 8- Broncos, 9- Chargers, 10- Jaguars, 11- Buccaneers, 12- Texans, 13- Dolphins, 14- Eagles, 15- Panthers, 16- Browns, 17- Bengals, 18- Vikings, 19- Lions, and 20- Packers. I will get to the next three in the next post.

In this old link from my Madam Secretary blog, I do a bit of comparing deaths that Republicans make a big deal about. I can talk a bit about that more. I also talk some about which team did better in the Rams versus Chargers seasons over the years from 2017 to 2022. Basically, the Rams got a great new coach starting in their 2017 season and they always had a better record than the Chargers from then until 2021. Then the Chargers got a new coach while the Rams had a terrible season with the Rams doing way worse and the Chargers going into postseason in the 2022 season.

I talked a bit about speedruns and want to post a speedrun race at some point in time. I might do that some, but I still have yet to find one between just two players that work well or one between three players either. I’ve found good ones between four players. I also talk about an injury affecting Tim Daley who plays Henry and it was sort of written onto the show with scenes being affected as a result.

I talked some about the size of the Supreme Court. It started with just six justices (one of them the chief justice), then it went to seven at one point, was expanded to nine, and went all the way to ten. It has nine outside of for a long time in 2016 when it only had eight. I will do research as to who won Nobel Peace Prizes and if any went to a secretary of state from the US. I do a quote about soccer versus rugby from Invictus. I also talk about something Jimmy Kimmel related, but have largely switched instead to Jimmy Fallon and now want to share a video relating to football from the Tonight Show since I mentioned a part with Jimmy Kimmel and football.

WARNING! Political section

There is a lot that I want to do mentioning political countdowns. I realize that I could mention some dates and people that have certain set end of dates of their time in office, but I won’t single any of them out. This is partly because I don’t want to say them in this blog, but largely because I don’t want to delay future acrostic poems for a long amount of time.

Speaking of poems, I will be more likely to first cover states that have gubernatorial elections in 2023 and then in 2024 if I can as long as there is still more to blog about the season. That is why I singled out Louisiana first. I will be counting down to that state’s primary sometime only if one of the following happens: 1- I have all of the countdowns updated to this year, 2- I see the one for Wisconsin’s primary show up in memories on facebook, or 3- I see a political commercial for any Kentucky election that will happen this year. Note that any new countdown that I start on facebook will be put in the cast updates of my Good Wife blog.

There are three different types of election countdowns. One is to primaries that different states have. I want to countdown to the one Indiana will have in 2024, but a date for that has not yet been set. I’ll have to wait a while. Another is general elections. And the last is countdowns until someone is out of office. I will only share that last one here if it is to January 3rd of an odd numbered year which is the set last date of members of Congress and Senate.

I have combined primaries and general elections in addition to primaries and countdowns to the end. I will now combine countdowns to the end with one to the general election. I have yet to combine all three into one grouping and can only group four together at most with as many as I want going on all at once.

I have six countdowns going on at once, with three already combined that I’ll get to the days away now. I don’t want to combine all of the general elections into one. Thus, 2025’s elections will not be combined with the ones in 2023, 2024, and 2026. I am also wanting one to the end of Mike Parson’s term to stand on its own for now as well. I at least only want it combined with things that come before it. Thus, it will be the countdown to Jeff Landry’s last day in office that I will countdown to even though he may yet win a different office. Anyways, it is 299 days until the 2023 elections, 631 days until the 2024 elections, and 1,390 days until the 2026 elections.

END POLITICAL SECTION

Movie update: On Friday, I finally finished watching Despicable Me 2. I would have finished it sooner, but I chose to watch it in French with English subtitles instead of just in regular English. On Saturday, I watched The Princess Bride. I replaced that with The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. On Sunday, I had other plans for lunch so I didn’t watch a movie then. On Wednesday, I watched part of crossover tape 2. I do not always know how I will watch that tape or how long it will tape year after year. I do know that this time, I watched just the first part of Invasion covering Supergirl. I will watch more later. On Tuesday, I watched Toy Story 3. That will obviously be replaced by Toy Story 4. Here is a video called Everything Great about Toy Story 3:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjgdMQEdZlU

The first part has a possibly relevant recap. I like recaps. They are always nice to have. I wrote about them in my TV blog. Anyways, a woman is thinking that a Reggie might be there only Reggie is dead yet still stealing food. Beau and another person find a non verbal boy in this place. The team tries to get evidence from him. Beau seems to connect with him well. He has an interesting ear. The person who seems to be ordering the murders of the season (I’m guessing the as of yet unnamed big bad) might have sent them a thank you note.

It seems that a woman named Sam who is missing and might have been dismissed as a mere runaway is looked for again. They find a dead woman named Kara who might have been dumped for a while since she is at least one week dead. They also think that a person named Michael was buried alive. Another thing that they wonder is if other missing women have been killed and buried around there as well.

The second part has more of the investigation at hand. Kara was possibly also buried alive, being held as a prisoner who was raped a lot. They think that she gave birth, likely to a child from rape. There could be others. It is possible that the kid was reunited or first got to meet his grandparents. Bees and honey could be one of the keys to this case. A lot happened that I miss and find hard to summarize.

The third part has a person being interrogated, but he claims that he was gay with Kara as his beard so that he could keep her secrets as well. The kid rejects his sandwich, perhaps as a joke, only to be freaked out when offered water. I can’t make sense of all of what’s going on in the show. Catherine helps with the case as the honey angle is talked about which I also don’t quite understand right now. But at least I know it was an episode this season. They could find other bodies.

Kara was pregnant before she disappeared as they find Jake, the father of the boy who I think if named Michael? And there might not be a Sam like I said there was. In the meantime, Penny is still convinced that there are bodies buried in the riverbed that is dried up. They find a dead baby of Kara.

The fourth part has it rules that drowning was what happened to Kara that lead to the death of her and maybe her daughter. They have to talk to Michael as he is the only one who might know. Water scares him. While at the house, Beau goes downstairs and finds a lot of mold there which is weird to him as it would be. He finds a place that seems to be a secret basement or passage or something.

The fifth part has an apartment being revealed in the basement with only one way in or out. Pete is evil. Michael was protected from him. They think that Kara might be unrelated to the other missing high school girls. I think that different characters keep changing the pronunciation of Kara’s name which is why I was confused a bit. They realize that the room was filled with water due to a burst pipe that killed her and almost killed Michael as well in addition to her daughter. Jake was the captor.

Beau is convinced that Mary had to know something about this case and can’t get custody on Michael. She wouldn’t let her husband go on the trips that she did. But she is guilty this time and arrested as well with Michael talking again. And this person named Sam is found and taking custody of Michael. I wish that I understood more of that part of the story, who this Sam person is. Maybe it will be touched upon more later? I guess we’ll see for sure or not. Beau wants to work in the lab only and not in the field at all. There are no scenes from next time so I guess that I’ll be back whenever with the next episode that probably isn’t next week. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 10

I haven’t gotten much done in terms of writing blogs of mine during my break from them and need to get on that at some point in time. I will be posting a new, one-time schedule of returning blogs in this one. If you want to see my schedule of blogs for real, then you’ll have to read my Survivor blog instead of this one. Also, I want to talk some about election countdowns here again, but am currently unsure of when and if things will work out with posting that in the near future.

The next song to share from Schoolhouse Rock is called Telegraph Line about the neurons in the body. This is a good lesson to learn since it isn’t talked about as much as it can or should be elsewhere.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc_lLWA7VMg

With me done with sharing bosses from Ocarina of Time, I am now going to share some of the bosses and sub-bosses of The Wind Waker, a different Legend of Zelda game. I am sharing the Bokoblins and Moblin from Dragon Roost Cavern first. I am not sure what is up with the gamer in control as they don’t take control of the weapons that the enemies leave instead letting them be used against them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n1u-x8eGoM

The next Songs from the Heart song that I’m sharing is True Colors. I like this version of the song as, like a lot of Celtic Woman songs, I tend to like their covers better than the original songs at times, but not always.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGOhveZW8us

As I correctly pointed out in my Madam Secretary blog, it isn’t a good idea for some random person to try to be a hero during a mass shooting as they could wind up getting killed themselves while mistaken as a bad guy or shoot the wrong person. The only time that a good guy with a gun will stop a bad guy with a gun is during a mere 3% of mass shootings. It is better for that not to happen at all.

Besides, who is to decide who is a hero? Some of the mass shooters probably think that. And let’s all remember that being a vigilante is illegal. You can’t take the law to your own hands. Now if you actually believe that a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun then watch this Jordan Keppler gun control video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCI4bUk4vuM

In the following Madam Secretary blog post, I talk about my ranking football teams thus far. I will start sharing them here instead of my Survivor blog starting in the post for next week’s episode. I also talk about uncertainty with how playoffs work, although it has changed a lot from just then, a mere 6 years ago. I talk or more complain about standard definition TV versus high definition TV. I still prefer standard definition at times and want to write a TV blog post about it.

Also note that this post I wrote has the grammatically correct I could care less which is often used wrong. I mention the football term icing the kicker, which I didn’t know what it was called at the time and would later learn for sure later. The most famous success at that in recent games lead to the now infamous double doink. I also reference Lost in Space.

Rotating back to a country to do an acrostic poem on, I am covering Ukraine now since it is in the news due to Russia invading it. It was in the news before that as well. We’ll see how long that country remains newsworthy here.

United against the invading Russia

Kindred spirits are all around

Refugees from there will be accepted here

And whatever other good countries will have them

I don’t think that Russia will win

Not a single person wants Russia to win

Even Putin has to know this

Movie update: When last I left you with this update, I was making sure that I could do all of the Christmas watching that I was wanting to and only if I had time would I potentially see more movies from my list before 2023 started. Well, I might talk about it more here as I once again wind up having to carry over some of these movies into the next year as I barely watched any of my usual Christmas movies this time around. Still, I might as well start with where I left off by reminding you how the lists stand as the year of 2023 starts:

Sunday’s list is Baby Boom, A Few Good Men, Liar Liar, Runaway Bride, Vantage Point, and A Wrinkle in Time. Wednesday’s list is Bean: the Movie, crossover tape 2, Despicable Me 2, Ice Age: the Meltdown, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Worship Dance. Thursday’s list is Adventures in Babysitting, Mr. Bean’s Holiday, nature documentaries, Popeye, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, and Toy Story 3. Saturday’s list is The Best Years of Our Lives, Finding Nemo, Johnny English Reborn with commentary, The Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and Sponge out of Water.

Tuesday has a list, but it is being dissolved into the other lists so won’t be used right now. Only once it is dissolved can I start new lists for this year. The five remaining options of this list and the order that they are being dissolved is Fireproof, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, The Emperor’s New Groove, and Stuart Little.

New Year’s Day was a Sunday and the first time this year I could potentially watch a movie this year. I wound up seeing Vantage Point on Sunday and replaced it with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh from Tuesday’s list. I could have watched another movie on Sunday, but this didn’t wind up happening, which is fine. The same was true on Monday as well. On Wednesday, I watched Despicable Me 2. I replaced that with Despicable Me 3 instead of something from Tuesday’s list. I was still seeing that on Thursday so no movie from Thursday’s list.

The first part has a party where someone winds up dead. Was his own murder lived streamed? They find something there that isn’t good. We find out that Chris has a social media account called @Chrissolves. He knows the victim.

The second part has Chris revealing more about some of his mistakes as he talked about ongoing cases and his theories about it. I have no idea if this will get him in trouble or not. It should at the very least get him to delete his account. Many do not like his account and people think that guilty people have walked because of him. There is a second person dead and someone wants Chris to clear his name again. I missed a lot of this episode and sadly am not sure if my notes on past episodes will even help me understand what’s going on since I can’t keep track of names. I really shouldn’t blog about murder mystery shows.

The third part has people not finding a suspect yet. People are convinced that Chris helped someone get away with murder. Of course, podcast culture is strong on TV these days. Despite not understanding the true crime craze, I would still like to do podcasts about politics and TV. I just don’t have time for it. Someone illegally put video of a crime scene online.

There is a search warrant that a person live streams about. Honestly, would this type of shit really slide in reality? It’s like how SVU once expected us to believe that a judge would only be mildly annoyed that everyone in the courtroom was filming the ongoing trial when in reality, you can’t bring a phone into a courthouse. Chris realizes that upon finding A positive blood, he did help Nate get away with murder (sorry if I haven’t really explained who Nate is) and Nate could be responsible for another one.

The fourth part has a friend of Nate being revealed to be the killer of Anna and also the killer of Nate. It was Warren who was acquitted. Maxine lets him go. Maxine also thinks that Chris should have a weapon on him. It is revealed that the victim, Nate, had pink eye. They try to find the drone and find what could be a wet wipe. It could have DNA that a literal rat had on him and let the team find.

The fifth part has a person named Vincent being investigated next as he had some scratches on his arm. He had sunglasses on to cover his pink eye. Since it is highly contagious, he got it when he killed Nate. Chris posts his last video before deleting his account. I’m a bit confused as to if Vincent is guilty, but can’t be charged. I think that is sadly the case.

On the next CSI: Vegas, there either wasn’t a promo or much of once as I couldn’t quite understand what it was promoted. Sorry about that. I remember when Madam Secretary wasn’t promoting its next episode after the newest one aired when the final season of it was on. Meanwhile, I don’t even know what the recap had to do with this episode as it seemed to stand alone this time around.

Now I should post my returning blogging schedule. Now should be my time to put all of my effort into getting all of them back and ready for the future. I’m even going to get the Elementary one up before the first CSI: Cyber blog that I normally do with that instead. I won’t post a link to any hiatus reasoning here.

Returning blog schedule

Monday, January 9- Elementary

Wednesday, January 18- Survivor

Friday, January 20- Madam Secretary (switches with TV)

Saturday, January 21- CSI: Cyber (update explaining hiatus)

Sunday, January 22- TV (also switching on Fridays)

Saturday, January 28- The Good Wife (possibly, if not done another time)

Unaffected blogs: The Good Fight, this one, the new Fadam Secretary (see link)

The above blog is entirely about politics and it might change what political thing it talks about at times. I actually liked the break from blogging some as it happened at the right time which is one of the reasons why I took it. Anyways, I need to stop rambling on and just end this post. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 9

While I am putting most of my blogs on hiatus, if things go according to plan, this will not be one of them as it shouldn’t need to be and I’m not behind on it. If things do get behind with this blog, at least you will know why.

The next song from Schoolhouse Rock to share is Interplanet Janet. It seems to have a good lesson learned, although it can be hard to tell. I do forget how much of this will be outdated. I know one in Money Rock will be.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGgajx1pGPU

Now getting to the last part of The Ocarina of Time, here is the final boss, Ganon. I will share the sub-bosses and bosses of The Wind Waker next. I won’t include the ending of the game, even though I could.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF8nIHfSkOg

The next song from Songs from the Heart is Non C’e Piu. I originally didn’t like this song, but it grew on me. I wish that I knew the pronunciation of some of their songs so I could correctly sing it if I wanted to. Maybe I’ll check one of the forums of this group to figure out if they can explain it.

There was a lot that I talked about in this old Madam Secretary blog post and I will get a bit political while talking about it. I talk about my progress of watching Survivor: Borneo again. Guess what one of the 18 things I’m watching on DVD or tape is? I also talk about having a lot of shows added at once at the start of the year, something that I have rigged in a way not to do again. I delve a bit into why I didn’t want to put when I watched old Survivor episodes my blog on Survivor. You see, there was this post that I had decided had too much detail in it so I make a post without the extra detail that I didn’t need in addition to the whole mess that it was.

I admit to talking more about politics in that blog then about the episodes in question. I also want to rephrase something. I am old fashioned. You are not taking away my flip phone, VCR, or oxford commas. I wind up talking more about Survivor then I should. I point out the good guy with a gun fallacy. I’ll post a video about that in the next blog post. I wind up finding things funny due to hindsight as I mention something being the worst thing that Republicans have ever done and thinking it is hilarious. I don’t know nutting do I? I also talk about not liking the plot of the episode and wonder did this episode help inspire election lawsuits?

I am writing another acrostic poem, this one on a city. This time, I picked the city of St. Louis. I will not always know what I will pick. And, unlike the poems that I put in my Madam Secretary blog, I will try to keep this apolitical.

Somewhere in the Midwest

There lies a nice city

Let’s be glad that it exists

Or else Missouri would be blander

USA would be less interesting

In case you missed it

Sports wouldn’t be as good

The first part has a woman chased in the darkness. (How am I supposed to hit a sap button on a universal remote? Do any of them have it?) Catherine wants a locker where Gil used to have one. Some of the team arrives where the woman is dead with a gunshot to the head. Penny is with the team for this one. The victim’s name is Shelby and a bearded man appears to be the killer. Penny sees bleach there. My brother saw a movie called Bleach. I think this is different. Allie has an upcoming exam that she might be ignoring because of the case.

The team goes to what seems to be a regency costume party where the crime scene was. There are at least two rooms and a you better take a look at this cliché. There are photos of Shelby with a guy named Clarence whose photo booth death was caught on camera. The audio descriptive video that I’m stuck with might help since now I will be able to catch names better.

The second part has more of the ballroom investigated and they think that Clarence was the main target with Shelby killed for being a witness. The team talks to a woman named Prudence. Man, I hope that there aren’t many people with that name left in the world. It is too old fashioned. Penny reveals that the killer has taken anti-psychotic medication, but probably wasn’t on the meds that he was supposed to be at the time of the killing. Wait. Someone is off the meds that they are supposed to be on? That must mean that Kanye West is the killer.

Winslow, who was in a relationship with Shelby, has the same sized shoe as the killer, but not the same shoes. He is the husband of Shelby. This case relates to the Eclipse. We still aren’t done with that plot point apparently. There was penetration that got the woman in a bad way. I heard that can happen. The gun is different than usual. There is then another death, Lamare James from a recent episode who was going to be a victim until his life was saved. They are missing something as there is a connection that they can’t yet figure out. We then finally see footage again of the cliffhanger of last season of the room in all white with strange symbols.

The third part has people convinced that the killer of Lamare, Shelby, and Clarence are one at the same. Josh is concerned that Allie isn’t prepared for the test as he doesn’t want her to take it twice. Josh is in another place where he is able to spray for footprints where a lot of bleach was. The team figures out that Lamare was the real target with Clarence killed for looking like him since the killer couldn’t see as well due to the bleach. Four birds are there and important with Penny realizing that corn might be the key to this case.

Catherine and Maxine want to talk to the person who tried to kill Lamare. When Josh and Allie go to the crime scene, they learn that he was being blackmailed into being a killer and he was supposed to target someone else who became a killer and there are connections in all of this to three recent cases.

The fourth part has the connections that are hard to keep track of and summarize. Alan is finally integrated. He claims that his memory is fuzzy. They want to know who else might have wanted Lamore dead. He gets freaked out by the note: You must cull the rotten fruit. We still get mere glimpses of this other white room killer. I don’t even know what to call him or her. Penny thinks that it is weird that Beau seems to have no fear. But he just seems calmer. The team goes to where a Richard might be at. He has the bolt gun. He talks about weird things and seems mentally unstable. But he also confesses to some of the recent crimes. There is a struggle between Serena Chavez and Richard, with it unclear what happened at the moment.

The fifth part has Richard rambling on as his injured body is taken to a hospital. Of course, it is too early to figure out key secrets so of course someone’s going to die. They think that a computer is ordering the deaths with a person in control of them hacking it. Didn’t they already fail at CSI: Cyber? But it could work for a big bad of this season. It was probably not Richard in the all white room.

Catherine tells Penny to speak up with her opinion. Allie talks to Josh about working with Serena since Serena is dating Josh. Allie wants to change shifts and doesn’t think that she can be friends with Josh the way that they are or used to be. I hadn’t really realized that Serena was a main character this season and the person that Josh was fucking. Penny realizes that the laptop that the team has is one that the killer is using to spy on people including them at the moment. The plot thickens. There aren’t any scenes from next time so I guess the series will return next year. Good. I look forward to seeing you and the show then. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 8

There is a show that airs against this one (not at the moment) called Alaska Daily. It looked like it could be good although all signs point to this not lasting. I’ll never know if it was any good or not. I guess I might be better off not knowing in the event that it ends on a cliffhanger or otherwise isn’t as good a show as it looks.

Continuing on with more of Schoolhouse Rock, the next song in the series that there is to cover is The Energy Blues. One of the potential problems of the old educational series is that some of it is outdated. It’s why I hope that they don’t air the Arthur episode anymore where D.W. gets chickenpox and implies that one should get it while now in time one should get vaccinated against it instead of getting it.

Near the end of The Ocarina of Time, something that happens during it has the final boss sort of beaten before the absolute final boss is fought is that you have to go through the part of Escaping Ganon’s Tower. That’s included here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkU2yB2EEvk

Now since the last post covered a song from The Prince of Egypt, I will get to the only other song that’s after When You Believe that that’s I Will Get There. This is the last song from the movie in question. I wasn’t even sure that I’d be able to include more as my original source of finding what songs were in it, the soundtrack, wasn’t putting the songs in the right order. Thankfully, there is a Dreamworks fandom that I could use to look up songs and found this one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LqPOUJlDj0o

Going into more of Songs from the Heart, the next one that is covered is a twofer. It is a lead-in featuring the only song in the group’s history not to feature any of the main members and is instead something played on whatever musical instrument is that. It is called The New Ground. This leads into the main song: Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears. It was also the name of the tour that they did right before this concert was filmed.

In this old post from my Madam Secretary blog, I talk about the power cord on the laptop that I was using for blogging affecting things and this post was almost done normally in order, but changed so that I could do the previous one normally. I also had talked about ranking NFL teams, but not doing the deductions for tape delay like I said that I would. I have spread out the complete ranking in my Survivor blog so far, but have not finished it as I’m waiting for the results of a January 1st game next year. I also talk about Congress voting on election results, something the episode talks about some, which we all now know happens on January 6.

With me wanting to cover a state now with an acrostic poem, I have decided that I will now cover the state of Louisiana. I won’t currently cover anything in any of these poems that cover 3, 4, or 5 letters lest I start doing haikus, clerihews, or limericks and combine them with acrostics every now and then.

Lots of southern hospitality here

On down yonder on the bayou

Used to people on nice behavior

It is a sweet place to some

South in the country

In a coastal place

And with a mighty river

Near to unique food

A pretty interesting place

Movie update: On Saturday, I watched Avatar. I replaced it with Johnny English Reborn with commentary from Monday’s list. This leaves only one choice from Monday’s list to move provided that there isn’t an s choice on the list that I want to move it to. On Sunday, there was once again a family visit that prevented me from watching a movie. On Tuesday, while I sort of rolled The Emperor’s New Groove to watch, I didn’t bother watching it.

On Wednesday, the roll was now the crossover tape. I finished that and replaced it with crossover tape 2 since nothing could be moved from Monday’s list and I had to put something there that sort of worked. On Thursday, I watched Bambi and replaced it with The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, the last of Monday’s choices that are now moved to a new list.

On Saturday, I was busy with family visits and had no time for a movie. The same was also true on Sunday, despite it being a different family visit this time. On Tuesday, I watched Back to the Future part 3. This causes Tuesday’s list to dissolve as there was not a possible replacement for it. I did not see a movie on Wednesday, Thursday, or Saturday due to family visits. And now I’m switching to Christmas movies for a while. I will get to a reminder of the lists as they stand, including how Tuesday’s list will be dissolved, only if I’m sure that I’m not going back to the list this year.

The first part has us in Minsk, wherever that is. We finally get to Catherine. So that’s where she has been. Hopefully she hasn’t been a lone wolf. But this does make sense as to where she’s been for the last few episodes. She is taking some man to Vegas in regards to the disappearance of Grace. He claims that Grace was murdered and that he knows who did it. He wants immunity. The judge is reluctant to do this. But in a twist that you totally saw coming, he winds up being poisoned and makes a run for it. However, in a twist that you didn’t see coming, he was faking it and ran. He’ll probably wind up dead for reals later.

Catherine has some of Grace’s things. Isn’t that a movie? A Girl Called Grace? I don’t think that I’m interested in this for sure. After talking to Maxine, they find the dead body of their key witness that they investigate the crime of. Maybe this means that she isn’t dead? We’ll see. They are hoping that this crime scene will tell them what happened and lead to information in the Grace case.

The second part has the death of this person with a name I couldn’t spell after hearing it being investigated. Weird things were in this place where he was killed. And the killer tried to clean things up, but left behind evidence. A rare chemical was found. Beau mentioned that he only smoked cigars twice: when both of his daughters were born. Does anyone have any idea where this cigar for birth tradition came from? I’ve never heard of it for a very long time. I’d never do it myself and can only hope that someone who suggests it to me can explain it to me. There is a cigar as evidence.

Catherine doesn’t like how it seems that the killer of Grace keeps getting further away. The team goes to a place and finds where Miguel was and not his killer. They are able to find the dead body of Grace. Also, the hotel called The Eclipse is still a shady place that probably relates to her death.

The third part has Catherine and Maxine wondering what might have happened to Grace. Catherine thinks that Miguel hid the body there as leverage, but wasn’t the person or people who killed her. There were at least two bullets she was shot with, although only one of them was still in her. She also swallowed paper that was there before she was killed that’s now a clue. They talk to a smoker who might be more important, but isn’t seen much just yet.

Part of the paper contains the phone number of Catherine that was given to Grace the day before she disappeared. It seems that what seems to be random scribbles on the paper she swallowed are a map. The painting in the room was stolen. They have a real Van Go which was replaced by a replica.

The fourth part has Catherine talking to Rick, the smoker, about the cases at hand. She is still a shareholder at this hotel. She looks at the cameras. They are able to use an art expert to figure out that the painting with blood on it was real. It seems that a masterful person wasn’t that masterful in the end. I can’t quite understand all of the explanation. There was a forgery business going on. A man named Frank that I have not seen is brought in. He was a hitman like Will Smith. He wants a lawyer. Rick is still a suspect and many questions remain. Catherine notices something in a box that one of the women has who was dismissed.

The fifth part has it revealed that Jodi, the woman who was fired, might be the killer and person behind the forgery. Frank deleted other security footage such as one in a room that is then investigated by others. Jodi is brought in by Catherine who then has all of the evidence being brought up. Jodi is guilty and hired Frank. Catherine talks about wanting to leave now. She may even turn to the eclipse. But she stays with the team for now as they go to another crime scene that will hopefully be the focus on the next episode in question.

On the next CSI: Vegas, there are three connected cases and they know a person relating to what must be a new one. I guess that I’ll see and they’ll explain what all has happened lately and how it is connected. That doesn’t make the hiatus doing into this any better, though. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Season 2 Episode 16

Since I mentioned the show 9-1-1 in a previous post, I might as well mention the Monday shows that I watch. This will cover things that aire...
